David is Spartan-like in his approach to motorcycle racing in every way. The 22-year old Capetonian started racing Motocross in 1995 at the age of 5, and has been racing competitively every year since. David holds immense focus with determination to succeed at the highest level with him making the change in 2008 from motocross to superbikes.
At the same time David studied to be a Personal Trainer focusing on his fitness knowing that successful Superbike racers are some of the fittest athletes on the planet. In only his second season in Superbikes, David finished 4th overall in the National 600cc Supersport Class, while winning the Western Province Regional Supersport and overall Superbike championships and in doing so, was awarded Western Province colours for his achievement.
2011 was to be David’s crowning glory of his hatchling career when he won the National Supersport Championship with an impressive 10 race wins and cementing his name in South African motorcycle racing circles. McFlash’s fighting instinct comes through race after race. Even with bad starts, the Champ is renowned for coming from the middle of the pack and still taking the spoils.
